Personally I saw it as a semi-sarcastic equivalence noting the lack of differences and a note about the Chinese Room. It is like describing human capabilities as equivalent to a black box algorithm - we might not know how our brain parses 2 + 2 = 4 but we know that it calculates and must follow some sort of procedure. |
