If you can't find the time to spend 2 hours on a coding challenge, maybe you simply don't want the job enough? The hard fact of SE job search is that with most modern companies, you're going to get some sort of technical questions. For ME, I'll much rather be asked questions about something I've just written, rather than random DS & Algo questions. In fact, how many experienced know DS&A down to the bone, at the levels of Leetcode medium and hard, and can just wing an interview, with no prep? I'd imagine under 10%. So yeah, I'd rather take a couple of hours to make some simple application, and review that, that to spend N times that combing through competitive programming questions. (Most of all, I'd rather not have any of those, and let my previous work do the talking, but that's the world we live in.) |
