Philosophers have regularly been persecuted by the ruling class, whether it's Socrates or Jesus. Most have an acute ability to convey a message that is often counter to popular narratives of the time. The ability for people to organize and communicate ideas, whether through printing press or social media, can be very powerful indeed. |
