But how can one understand something in terms of some other, more basic, things when it itself is the most basic thing there is, save for the only language in which one can describe it in a meaningful way, math. We understand how atoms work, how semiconductors work, etc. - all in terms of quantum mechanics, but there is nothing else (but math) that can possibly “explain” how quantum mechanics itself “works” the way it does.
