Think about streaming a live video from Youtube inside your browser. There's a lot of complicated stuff going on underneath: layers upon layers of compression, error correction, buffering, etc. Many ugly, crazy hacks to squeeze the signal into a system not built for it. The end result is a lossy approximation of the original and definitely not in real time. The visual system is a lot more like videos than people think. |
