The vast majority of the "best people" cruise through our education systems. The few who truly don't fit the mold usually end up making it if they are genuinely exemplary. Low caliber people then hide behind these few outliers to try to rationalize their own lack of ability and academic mediocrity. "I suck at everything but I know I'm smart cuz <famous_person> also didn't like school." Everybody wants a medal. And when they don't get one, they blame everything but themselves.
