Do you also think innocent people being harassed by police because some AI-driven surveillance system says they're a criminal is a good thing?

Its not good thing, but the solution is to improve/fix the AI-driven surveillance system, not eliminate it.

that's not the solution, that's how you enforce something that is broken (similar technocratic positions led to DNA testing being no longer questioned in a court). The actual solution is to ban it completely.
