The Tractatus is couched in language that make it seem like Wittgenstein is laying out a mathematical proof, but many of his conclusions don't follow from his premises. The Tractatus is much more a work of mysticism (in the religious sense) than of logic. Whereof one cannot speak, thereof one must remain silent. |
