It seems like their actions were illegal in the most obvious way. I don't think there's much grey area here.

Imo the goal for the IA must be to haggle down the ridiculous damage claims to something that they can pay via donations.

I'm hoping that's the case. I'd like to see it settled in a way that preserves IA.
