I can underestand the author's point of view about the uniformizing atmosphere on Linkedin, but I could not quit. I am IT system architect in Paris. It means linkedin is my magic tool to get tons of job opportunities without even searching. Closing my account would be a meaningless and self-harming move... But by the way I use it only as smart and dynamic resumé / job offer board and never use it as a social network. And I never read at personal publications as they are mainly about corporate spirit BS clichés and pathetic personal development advice. And I personnaly think that people who spend much time commenting on Linkedin often offer a bad image of themselves : they should work more and self-promote less.
