Ah, an outlier. I don't see any significance to this story other than being a $TSLA trigger word... I've seen many people, including truck drivers get hurt as a result of relying too much on technology (Lane assist, auto-headlights, etc). This is why they're all labelled as an assistive technology.

The driver should have seen a gigantic truck blocking his entire lane, and though it was a failure of autopilot to not detect it, autopilot shouldn't be receiving all the blame for something that is inherently not its job to do 100% perfectly.

If assist technology can't avoid an object the size of a barn from 100 meters, I would argue it didn't do its job even 1% perfectly.
Claim a car is “full self driving“ and it’s news when it can’t drive itself.
Tesla doesn't claim that their current cars are full self driving. They claim that future software will allow FSD on some models sold today.
