We subscribe to two newspapers, we have a number of broadcast channels of TV and radio available. In every case, the news and opinion are coming from corporations. To be sure, the wild internet offers a great number of non-corporate sources of news. But that offers its difficulties also.
Ideally, an educated citizenry would have the critical thinking skills and the ability to research, but absent that the social media corps are doing their best to help (albeit ham-handedly).
