I do something similar, although I use venv to create a new virtual environment and update pip and setuptools: alias venv='python3 -m venv venv && source venv/bin/activate && pip install --upgrade pip setuptools -q'
And then ae and de to activate/deactivate a venv: alias ae='source venv/bin/activate'
alias de='deactivate'
