Computer code is written by humans and based on abstractions that are designed to be comprehensible to the human mind. You can say that computer programs are memes that undergo two types of selection pressure: they need to be understandable to both humans and computers. Genetic code only needs to work, therefore it’d be surprising if neatly grokable abstractions fall out of the system. |
