You could always use the original Myst generator, HyperCard.

Theres a cross-platform "HyperCard" called LiveCode (https://livecode.com/). The syntax is very similar and you can even import old HyperCard programs: https://www.hyperactivesw.com/mctutorial/rrtutorialtoc.html
