Content on open platforms like blogs and podcasts has two serious handicaps. First, it doesn't have any built in system for liking, commenting on and sharing content. Second, there is no low-friction way to monetize it except for advertising. I don't see any easy, scalable solutions to these problems but until they're solved open platforms will cater to niche audiences. |
