You should use thing for what they're made for. Even using classes you can't solve the problem you're describing.

You ever worked on a project where a non-technical PM got to pick technologies? I guarantee you someone is going to choose this CSS library in the future because they think it looks nice, then be confused or frustrated when it stomps over some other styling they want to use because it directly styles tag names
