It's a bit of a historical oddity, but the Secret Service is responsible for policing counterfeiting and wire fraud. When the USSS was founded in 1865 there was no federal police agency (other than USPIS I believe), so they handled that particular crime and no one has taken the jurisdiction away from them. https://www.secretservice.gov/investigation/ |
