Why are websites having to individually implement dark mode? It should be done heuristicly by the browser.

It would take me weeks to redo my website to support dark mode. Better to wait and let browser technology catch up.

Web designers are horrified at the thought that the shade of black you see your browser render the background in isn't the same as what's in the sketch document. They must control that. The browser is not an user agent anymore.
