One trick that worked for me was to look for fresh yeast. Everyone thinks of the packets of dry yeast, but forget that in the refrigerated section there will be some fresh yeast. I was able to find that long after all the dry packets were gone. Also, try making sourdough. Have to make the starter first, but after that you're set. Or get yeast from other sources, like dried fruit and such. Yeast is everywhere! |
