They’re basically factory overclocked. Intel has been backed into a corner by AMD, so they’re pushing clockspeed over balancing against TDP and bus. Also, the multi-year delays in the next process shrink gave them lots of time to improve yields and micro-optimize the fabrication generation these are running on. |
