Yeah, but those rock band names are at least grammatical. They're of the form "The {Noun}s", not "The {conjugation of verb}".

Give is certainly a noun. As in, “the mechanism has some give.”

I'm trying to tell you that I don't think the name "The Gives" is very good, and I don't think I'm alone in that opinion. Do with that information what you will, but my advice in response to your "Show HN" is to pick a better name (and correspondingly, domain name).
