When I announced my own analytics thing here a few months ago I got quite a few signups from the HN thread, and based on the bug reports, support requests, etc quite a few of the users are just running it on their personal blog. I'm aware of some other solutions as well that aren't mentioned at all in that table. Personally I found Matomo rather hard to use, I tried it for a while but decided that writing my own was easier than figuring out to get Matomo to do what I want (also: cheaper and easier).
