In some ways it's smart. They wait and see what the market wanted and then present the most polished version of that. They do this in game design and in console design. Other benefits would include: easier to develop for due to familiarity, better battery efficiency (as opposed to gamegear), and lower manufacturing costs as well. Likely the know that the experience matter more than the hardware. Which is something the original mac got right too, as it wasn't very powerful either. |
