Ask HN: What is job interview according to you?

When I see some of the job interview process of some companies through candidates feedback on Glassdoor I am having an assumption that people have misunderstood what job interview is.

I do not want to bias your views by posting my assumption here right now. That being said I will post my thoughts after I get an enough comments.
