How so? Intermittent fasting is basically skipping breakfast for most people. Wake up late or sleep in a little extra, maybe make some coffee, go to work or school. Something most teenagers and college students do or have been doing for years. My self included as I much prefer extra sleep. I've some how been doing fasting since grade school and didn't even know it was controversial, disordered, or even called fasting until recently. My dad, who has done multiples of marathons and even Iron Man triathlons never ate breakfast and usually not lunch either. He seems fine and no one ever mentioned he had disordered eating. Eating real food, having a preference towards certain real foods you like (some people just like more meat or eggs instead of fruit or potatoes or rice) and not being overly gluttonous is some how disordered eating. I don't buy that. |
