The Monthly Active Users metric is more important, and it has been declining by around 10% each year. That’s very significant. Roughly 25k users lost every day.
Mozilla had to lay off almost 10% of its staff this year, and will probably have to keep doing that every year now (unless the decline in users stops). And firing your employees doesn’t usually lead to better products.
