As for 1, I imagine it's because Apple doesn't want the destructive actions front-and-centre. Not only that, but macOS has always encouraged/preferred the drag-and-drop pattern for file management — it might be something with which you or others agree but that's the paradigm they're backing, for better or worse. Copying-and-moving might be a basic operation if it's something to which you're accustomed, but it's such second nature for me, and I'm sure others, to just open a new Finder window or drag to a Stack. I agree with 2. The way they do it now is far too heavy handed; give us a prompt to choose to run the app for the first time, possibly with an administrator password prompt. I haven't really had a problem with Apple introducing restrictions with Gatekeeper but that one is simply annoying. |
