I am interested in this question. As a cryptography enthusiast, I don't these these issues are black and white, one could imagine using ideas like zero-knowledge proofs (which, in this case, might just amount of sharing hashes of images and videos or slightly more intricate techniques like fuzzy hashes used by, for example, VirusTotal) to prevent spread of CSAM while protecting privacy.
