Not only is it a horrible word it's not even accurate in this context -- it's modifying "To Write" which is the infinitive verb, which really is the action of the writing, not the result, which is what the author actually wants to convey. Normally this wouldn't bug me so much but on an essay about effective writing....urgh. |
