I don't think so - in the Linux bug, Firefox becomes unresponsive, whereas in the bug in the article, Firefox runs as normal, and the blanks can be cleared by scrolling or mousing over.

I see a somewhat similar bug on my Linux box, where windows flicker between black and normal, and the flickering stops if i focus on the window. I don't think it's specific to Firefox, though - i believe i've seen all sorts of apps do it. I do have an nvidia graphics card, FWIW.

As someone who experience this very often I can't say that Firefox is becoming unresponsive, you can still scroll up/down, change tabs, etc.. but the all pages are glitched similar (even worse) to the screenshots.
