DMCA was a reaction to the digitization of media. People were sharing pirated media faster than companies could take them down. Some of these people hid behind websites that provided varying degrees of anonymity. How the tables have turned. Companies are now the ones hiding behind anonymized parties that use bots to scan and take down everything that might be related. In this case it's not even remotely related. |

Well, people are also still clearly sharing pirated media, so I guess the only people who consistently benefit are the lawyers.
