I switched to macOS in 2009 because Windows was a perpetual patch Tuesday and UX beige box. And that's after cleaning up the fall-out of Blaster, Code Red, Code Blue, Nimda and on and on across hundreds of endpoints and getting sucked into the MCSE/VMware/EMC cert/training dance. I did plenty of work in C (embedded, kernel and userland) and heterogenous net admin-ing on HP-UX, Sun/Solaris, SCO, AIX, SGI from 1996-2013, so I wasn't married to any particular vendor. (Scripting a Cisco 1604 ISDN router to auto-dial the ISP was fun.. and I discovered AIX was phoning-home to IBM and blocked them. LOL.)

If I were the Apple CEO, there needs to be a pause in new features in all platforms in order to fix what's broken, rather that just adding new features, ripping things apart and kicking the technical debt can down the road to continue snowballing.
