I swear I saw something recently where they're putting mediocre little processors right into the RAM packages. So you send the task to the memory, and it's done right there, where the latency is lowest. And the more RAM you have, the more processors you have working in parallel. When they arrive at an answer, they send it back. Sort of like content-addressable memory, but even more so. |
