the only reason it 's still called coronavirus is nobody has come up with a creative name, and everyone insists on not calling it "wuhan virus".

Anybody want to give it a name?

It is called coronavirus (a familynof virii) because of the shape of the organism.

sars and mers and thousands of others are also coronaviruses. this one is currently designated "2019 novel coronavirus" which is not very practical
