CERN did not create the internet. Tim Berners-Lee created the world wide web. Also keep in mind that there actually existed many predecessors of hypertext systems (EDIT: see https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Timeline_of_hyper... ); just for some reason (let's say because the world wide web was in the right spot at the right time), the world wide web became hugely popular. |
