I think people are too used to the "American style" of moviemaking which focuses solely on goal driven characters in a rules driven world. While the characters in Stalker have some goals it's not all that important. There is no "explanation" as in a series of rules of the universe and character internal goals that together drive the plot. Why would one think there has to be? "Film is a mosaic made up of time." |
