What is an IC?

Individual Contributor. Manager euphemism for a cog in the machine.
What is the alternative to being an Individual Contributor? An...individual non-contributor? Or a non-individual contributor?
Management and leadership roles.
And they aren't said to contribute? Odd terminology.
SV-speak for labor, really, as in "the interests of capital/management and labor are, at times, opposed".
I think it was originally a Microsoft acronym.

But, yeah, IC = prole.

Never heard this before, reminds me of Idiocracy's 'Particular Individuals'
Sibling commenters got it. Sorry for the jargon, I've clearly been here too long!
