They had to act quickly because of the large movement of people associated with Chinese New Year. I don't see that they had any other option. I don't think we should be concerned about the Chinese government taking this seriously. It is clearly a very serious situation, the fatality rate is lower than SARS but not hugely. It would be more concerning if they weren't taking it seriously. |
