Looking on Amazon, I think it was probably one of Edward O. Wilson's books. Probably "Sociobiology: The New Synthesis". I was particularly struck by the typical behaviors of mates in primitive societies, and especially patterns that indicated a partner was unhappy in a relationship and/or trying to get rid of their mate. We're not so far away from those that came before. |
