I'm blind and play games. I have some residual vision to navigate some GUIs and use OCR to read blocks of text and magnification for a few other things, like detecting small buttons. I tend to pick a game and learn it well and play it a lot. I'm working my way through Disco Elesium right now, it's amazing.
