If Groupon were a brick and mortar, they would be known as a low-brow discount store. They are certainly very successful but a lot of low-brow businesses are, that's nothing new. For a lot of consumers it's all about price but many consumers (myself included) only want to spend money where they will receive great service and can identify with the company culture. I think Groupon risks losing customers that just don't appreciate their somewhat demented culture. |
