Not angering parents should be reason enough to go to school. If they don't like school, they can get to like it. That would be my philosophy. Certain decisions parents make for the benefit of their kids even if the kids don't like it or initially agree with it. All you need to do is turn off the electricity and remove all toys & food from the house. Then tell the kid that this is what life would be like if mommy & daddy didn't go to work. Everyone would be hungry, cold, there'd be no entertainment and this is what will happen you when you're older if you don't go to school. Because in order to find work you need to learn skills. |

school has absolutely nothing to do with work. at least in my native country school is there for the teachers not to strike and vote for the other guys. over there a kid spends more time at school than a parent at work. and this is by design.
so while knowledge is required for work, schools providing that knowledge is by no means a universal concept.
