People are different, but I cannot imagine how someone could seriously work on (as in: devote their whole working time to, by their own choice, as an entrepreneur, researcher or hobbyist rather than an employee or student) problems they don't genuinely love. Sure, some do it for the money, but then they probably just love money and found a promising opportunity to earn it.
