That works fine for daily trips. It fails for long trips (6+ hours). Renting a car just for those trips simply costs too much, so your daily driver also needs to be able to perform that task. For me, I'd need at least 200 miles of range in 10 minutes. Long trips already take too long, waiting longer than 10 minutes is a non-starter. (And before you ask, I eat in the car. It's 10 minutes for bathroom, refuel, and back on the road.) The only way I could buy an electric car is if I had two cars. |
