Clocking in at 23 years on IRC, with likely very few days of missing coverage. Mostly channels that started with mutual interest (gaming, music, movies, programming) and almost exclusively evolved into personal groupings rather than the initial interest. I can grep things I remember talking about fairly quickly. And check back on what was going on at a certain point in my life (irclogs/[year]/[net]/#*.[date].log). The same can't be said for Slack, Messenger, etc. And it's all quite tiny gzipped. |
