Regularly on Ask HN questions about "What is best practice when I join a new team?" top advice is not to criticize existing systems, not plan to rewrite them in $newlanguage and assume there's a reason it was built like that. Low budget, short deadlines certainly is a good reason. So is bad specs, constant changing specs, or maybe $language or $framework just didn't have the features back then. |
