The climate change issue is not isolated. It is intrinsically linked with ecocide, species extinction and the poisoning of all natural environments. The slide into an apocalyptic state will be caused by all of these together. So viewing it in a silo is dangerous and incorrect. IMO.

I agree. There is a lot of risk in the coming decades ecologically and climate change is just one component of that. There is also ocean acidification, topsoil depletion, habitat destruction, oxygen reduction in the oceans, collateral damage from pesticide and fertilizer use, etc. We are putting harmful pressure on the natural world from every conceivable direction.
What's dangerous about a person focusing on a single issue? I focus my attention on single issues all the time. That's how I get things done and collect a salary.

It's not possible for someone to hold all the myriad problems of the world in their head at once and keep them all in perfect balance, advocating for each issue according to its scientific importance. It's just not possible. For starters, the brain processes language in serial, not parallel. For that reason alone, focus on one thing at a time is necessary.

So the author is wrong. Who is this guy to say that people shouldn't bring attention to any one issue simply because there are other issues which are also important? That seems to be the gist of this article.
