I don't know... The opposite of doing what the author does would be what? Arrange his work so that it's not all his problems? Adopt the mindset of "code to spec, collect paycheck"? To me, the author comes across as caring. They care about the actual value of the work they're doing, beyond their salary. We desperately need more people like that in this industry, because a lot of problems essentially boil down to it being full of people who don't care in the slightest.
