Google wouldn't have won that contract anyway. Contrary to the hn echo chamber Google is a distant 3rd in cloud and that too because of brand recognition. Their offerings are subpar

Care to elaborate more especially on the subpar issue? Is it related to SLA?

I thought their ml cloud offerings were superior

4th. Everyone always forgets Aliyun. Google is an also-ran in cloud and will probably scrap it at some point. Look out for it on https://killedbygoogle.com/

How much revenue is Aliyun? And what about the second in Chinese? (Tencent?)

I do hope Aliyun starts offering in the US soon- would benefit competition.
